Yuma County Board of Supervisors — Regular Session

Monday, October 19, 2026, 9:00 AM

197 South Main Street, Yuma, Arizona (the meeting room opens at 8:15 AM)

Agenda and packet: https://destinyhosted.com/yumacdocs/2026/BOSREG/20261019_1739/1735_10-19-26%20R%20PACKET.pdf

• Consent Item 2 asks the Board to approve $6,162,767.35 in county bills paid from September 14 to September 25, 2026. The payment list in the packet (page 41) includes check 56159169, dated 9/24/26, for $17,174.26 to Skydio Inc., a company that makes drones.

• Consent items are approved together in one vote with no discussion. The only way this payment gets talked about in public is if a Supervisor asks to pull Item 2 off the Consent Calendar for separate discussion.

• The packet does not say what was bought from Skydio or which department will use it. Residents deserve to know before the Board signs off.

• How to comment: You can speak in person during Call to the Public at the 9:00 AM meeting, or email your comment to publiccomment@yumacountyaz.gov by 8:00 AM on Monday, October 19. The County says all public comments will be read aloud at the meeting. Call to the Public is for issues within the Board's jurisdiction, and Supervisors can't discuss your comment on the spot, but they can direct staff to look into it or schedule it for a later meeting.

• The Ask: Please ask the Supervisors to pull Consent Item 2 and explain the $17,174.26 Skydio payment in public. They should tell residents what was bought, which department uses it, and what written rules govern how it is used and how any video or data it collects is stored and shared.

• Contacts: Chairman Martin Porchas (District 1), martin.porchas@yumacountyaz.gov. Vice-Chairman Jonathan W. Lines (District 2). Darren R. Simmons (District 3). Marco A. (Tony) Reyes (District 4). Lynne Pancrazi (District 5). The Board office is at 197 S. Main Street, Yuma, AZ 85364, and the main line is (928) 373-1010.
