THE OPPONENT'S TRACK RECORD
CONTRIBUTES TO THE CORRUPT AND INCOMPETENT CULTURE OF BAD COUNTY ELECTION OPERATIONS
Would you trust someone that gave the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors a 42% pay raise as a reward for how they ran the 2020 election? Well, that's exactly what Joe's opponent did in 2021. He voted for HB2700 which increased the pay for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisor's immediately by 13% and then by a total of 42% starting after the 2024 election. If we wonder why our elections still aren't secured, it's because, under Joe's opponent's leadership, they funded more corruption with zero incentives to improve our elections.
Conservative Majorities
We were promised a big red wave with lots of funding from Joe's opponent's allies to deliver a super majority conservative legislature in Arizona. Instead, out of $1,606,795 raised to supposedly help our majorities only about $7,500 was actually reportedly spent on races as of September.
Where did the money go and what happened to the accountability? If the moderates aren't going to ensure we have the majorities needed to win, then they shouldn't lead.
Abandoned Conservatives in the Budget Process & Negotiated with Dems
In the 2022 legislative session, there was a $5B surplus available in the budget due to over-taxation and Covid money. Rather than negotiate with the conservatives on a legitimate skinny budget, Joe's opponent abandoned the base, boxed conservatives out of the process and expanded the budget by an egregious $5B with Dem funded pet-projects such as giving Hollywood a $150M tax credit gift.
We must not promote leadership that funds projects that will make our state WOKE, reward election incompetence and corruption, and let the AZ swamp get away with hoarding money intended for conservative majorities in the legislature!
We need a Speaker of the House that will boldy drive a pro-freedom, Arizona First Kari Lake conservative agenda. We are running out of time to make our state safe again!
LACK OF SUPPORT FOR THE GRASSROOTS
Joe's opponent not only doesn't have an advisory group of precinct committeemen and grassroots leaders to lean on for feedback on bills and votes, he even drove through a bill last session that ended up killing the precinct committeemen elections. After immediate outrage from the grassroots, he tried to reinstate the elections, but he couldn't get enough legislative support.

WHY DO THE LEADERSHIP RACES MATTER
After Legislators submit their bills, bills do not pass go without both the Speaker of the House and the Senate President allowing them to do so.
Within their respective chambers, the Speaker of the House and Senate President control all of the Committee Chair assignments and control all bills getting assigned to the Committees and all bills that get assigned to the floor.
HOW THE LEADERSHIP RACE WORKS
Our Founders designed our government to be by, of, and for the people, but the Leadership selection process is largely by, of, and for the political class in Arizona.
While the Speaker of the House and Senate President are chosen by the legislators, these races in some ways are even more important than that of the Governor's office. These two positions especially matter because they have the power to kill any bill they want before it even gets heard on the floor. They also control every Committee by assigning who is on every Committee including who leads it.

The public is completely boxed out of the process and really only the lobbyist class that funds their elections have influence (unless you have a grassroots legislator that actually asks their voters and precinct committeemen whom they want to lead the Legislature). The votes are held in private at an undisclosed location.

This means that with their first vote, your legislators are deciding whether they serve the political class or YOU the PEOPLE but it's completely a secret! It's a complete Arizona Last process, but you can help fix that by letting your soon-to-be elected legislators know whom you want to control the Legislature!
In 2021 and 2022, many grassroots bills were killed by leadership not allowing them to be heard for a vote -- leadership that was bought and paid for by the swamp in many cases. Election Integrity and parental rights in the classroom suffered the most.
Also in 2022, Rep. Toma and Sen. Gowan led the efforts to negotiate the budget with the Democrats - abandoning the Conservative Caucus and increasing the budget over $4B in pet project spending (such as Gowan's effort to give Hollywood $150M).

On the night of the budget in 2022, Democrats were literally doing happy dances in the Senators' lounge at the Capitol. Now Gowan and Toma want to lead the Legislature during the first half of Kari Lake's first term in office. If they win, they will control every single bill.
We cannot have leadership that Caucuses with the Democrats delivering Governor Kari Lake our budget. The crony political lobbyist class will win and the people will be boxed out once again!
